Today I will be working on Adobe photoshop 2018: photography. I am on chapter 5, section 1. We also have career center today. My work will be shown below….
Under the file menu, I chose place embedded and then opened the portrait01 file and clicked on enter to apply it.
I then went under the layer menu and chose smart objects and selected new object via copy. Photoshop then made a copy of this smart object. I repositioned it over to the right.
I double clicked on the thumbnail for the copy of this smart object so I could edit the image. I then went under the image menu, adjustments, and then invert. I then saved this and close the contents of the smart objects
I erased the image that I inverted but I did make another copy of the original picture and moved it towards the right.
I used command + J (shortcut to copy) to copy this image and post it in the leftover squares.
I double clicked on the thumbnail and opened edit contents of that smart object. I chose image, adjustments, and invert and then I saved this change and closed the change. I then saw that all the duplicates were changed because they were duplicated of the same embedded smart object.
I undid that by using the command + Z and it changed back to the original image.
I honestly didn’t know how to duplicate an image until this lesson. I bet I’ve been taught before on Lynda lessons but I forgot until now. So what I did was pull up an image on my computer and duplicate the image by using the command + J key.
I will attend career center now.
Today in career tech we learned that there will be problems when working but their are methods to work out a dilemma.
Today I will be taking a photoshop brainbench test. Afterwards, I will work on Adobe photoshop 2018: photography. My work will be shown below….
I finally passed this one!
I will continue on chapter 4, section 5.
I have opened up the image on photoshop. I then went under the photoshop CC menu and clicked on preferences and went to transparency and gamut.
I returned to my preferences to transparency and gamma. I then returned the setting to none.
I changed the stacking order of the two layers and then went under the layer menu and chose create clipping mask.
To create a duplicate of the mountain layer, I held down on the command key and clicked and dragged.
On the layers panel, I added a new layer mask.
I then tapped the g key(shortcut for the gradient tool) to select the gradient tool. I right clicked to make sure the tools reset and dragged a gradient from white to black starting from the lower right hand corner and going to the upper left.
I held down the option key and drag up towards the top of the layers stack.
I held down on the option key and clicked on the layer mask.
I selected the B key(shortcut for brush tool) to select brush tool and made sure I was painting with white as my foreground color and changed my opacity to 25% and then went over the bird to reveal any details that I wanted to see.
Tomorrow I will start on Chapter 5, section 1.
Today I will take an adobe brainbench test and I will work on turning images into a stencil. My work will be shown below….
Im using a picture of my dog but I first went to images and hovered my mouse over adjustments and selected threshold. I then adjusted it to my liking.
I then used the paintbrush to pain the white that I didn’t need in the image. I made sure the white was selected for the paint color.
I selected the crop tool and cropped areas that I didn’t want on the image.
I used the pencil tool to draw in some detail on the dog like hair but it turned out not so good especially on his chest. This is also the finished product but just ignore the chest hair that I drew on him.
desaturated the image under image-adjustements-desaturate
I honestly don’t know what I did. I selected threshold and adjusted it to my liking. I tried following a youtube video but I didn’t understand it.
Today I will be retaking the adobe photoshop but ONCE today. If I don’t pass, I will retake it Monday. Afterwards, I will be editing photos on adobe photoshop. My work will be shown below….
I used the quick selection tool to select different places of the bush and make the color darker bottom to top.
After….I honestly don’t have a plan for this picture. I am messing around with the tools.
I inverted the image and then added a color balance adjustment layer and rose my yellow towards the blue.
Another adjustment layer but this time it was black and white. I lowered the blue.
AfterBrightness/contrast layer so the image wont look so dark since it is already has a black and white filter.
Today I will be taking photoshop brainbench test until I pass so it might take all hour. If I do pass it and have time left then I will work on Adobe photoshop for photography. My work will be shown below….
Ive taken it twice today and I cant pass it.
and I didn’t pass….again
Today I will be taking my last brainbench test. Lets hope I can pass. We will also be attending career center. My work will be shown below….
I didn’t pass…….
I will now be attending career center.
Today I will work on finishing up my brain bench tests. If I get done with those tests, I will then work on 2018 Adobe photoshop for photography. My work will be shown below….
I THINK I PASSED!

Tomorrow I will take Adobe photoshop and hope that I will pass that one and if I do, then I am done with the brain bench tests.
